If you've ever wondered why body awareness is such an integral part of meditation, here is the reason. All energy (physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual) is filtered through the physical body. Many times we are not aware of this energy and because of this unawareness it is stored in the body. This energy could be beneficial to our lives such as the feelings of love, gratitude, peace, joy, etc. or it could be less than helpful such as guilt, shame, regret, anger, and the like. If we are unaware of this energy, it enters into the body and is stored there, becoming an integral part of our being and personality. As we bring awareness to the body, we disrupt this flow of energy and the unhealthy bits begin to dislodge and eventually are removed from the body entirely. Mindfulness of the body is not just a method to relax and calm the mind. It is actually a powerful healing modality. to practice is simple. find a quiet place where you can relax and begin exploring the physical sensations of the body. Don't worry about describing the sensations as pleasant or painful. just note WHERE the sensations arise. if you sense pain in the knee, simply state, "knee". Remember, you aren't looking to fix anything, you're just experiencing where the sensations arise. Much peace!

“There is only one perpetrator of evil on the planet: human unconsciousness. That realization is true forgiveness. With forgiveness, your victim identity dissolves, and your true power emerges--the power of Presence. Instead of blaming the darkness, you bring in the light." -Eckhart Tolle I love this quote...

To every chakra there is a front and back aspect. The front is how we communicate with the world around us. The back is how the divine communicates with us. For example. The front aspect of the throat chakra is how we speak our truth in the world. It’s about expression and manifestation of our authentic self. The back aspect of the throat is hearing the truths of our Devine self so that we can manifest in purity. Often our focus is on the front and we say and do things that we “think” are coming from authenticity but then end up binding us and keeping us from that which we desire most. If the back is closed or blocked, our truths are not authentic, as they are coming from the mind and Not from source. For harmony between ourselves and the Self, both aspects must be balanced, open, and charged with high frequency energy. Before we can manifest our truths, we must first be able to hear and feel them. And where are these truths we listen for? They’re in the waters, the wind, the heat and cold. They’re in the trees, the animals, the insects, and birds. They’re in the earth, the sky, and rocks. They’re in your loved ones, our enemies, and strangers in the street. They’re in the good and bad, the peasant and unpleasant. They are in all! Truth doesn’t come from the mind, it comes from the divine, which we are.

Over the past few decades there has been an increase in discussion about and practice of the divine feminine and the power and strength surrounding this beautiful energetic source. With this increase of divine feminine, the complimentary energy, the divine masculine, has undergone a shift, either increasing or decreasing as the two energies want to be in balance. This change, i believe, has set the conditions for an overabundance of masculine energy on a global level. This level is unhealthy for our spiritual growth and progression. Wars, violence, aggression, competitiveness, pride, and the desire for dominance block our channels of revelation, intuition, and divine assistance. Masculine energy isn't reserved for males only. We all, male and female, have both of these divine energies inside of us and need to balance them in order to move forward with confidence, power, strength, and vigilance. To bring balance to these divine energies, doesn't necessarily mean building the opposite. What is generally needed is simply to balance out the two forces that are already in and around your being. How do you balance your own masculine/feminine energies? One wonderful technique is the practice of Nadi Shadhana, a form of yogic breath work known as alternate nostril breathing. it is done by alternatively blocking right/left nostril and breathing deeply. This balances the left/right hemispheres of the brain which are the generators of this divine power. There are plenty of sources online for this practice or you can reach out and ask me about it. With the two divine energies in balance, love and compassion keep the desire for control and dominance in check, while the drive for success and progression keeps us from getting stuck in the indecisiveness and cautiousness of the unknown. When the two energies are in balance, we are confident, but humble; Powerful, yet meek; driven but submissive.
