Monday Meditation
For Youth
Join me and others each Monday afternoon at 4pm for 1 hour of mindfulness meditation for youth in grades 9-12. This drop-in class will be offered in my home in east provo and will be focused on developing what are known as the 4 immeasurable qualities which are: Loving-kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Harmony within the self and community. These sessions will introduce youth participants to techniques that can help quiet the mind, build confidence, self-love, and resilience to life's challenges. As a professional educator with a master's degree in education and over 10 years experience in teaching youth, I look forward to beginning this course.
In order to make these classes as comfortable as possible, I will need to have at least 3 individuals in each class. If that is not the case within 1 hour of the class start time, I will need to cancel that day. This means registration or texting me with participants names is important.
Each weekly session will follow a similar format as listed below

Introductions and greetings

Short dharma talk (lesson on a particular concept of mindfulness especially for youth)

15-20 minute practice. This will be guided with up to 10 minutes in silent meditation to practice the concepts without interruptions. These sessions will also include the soothing sounds of Crystal bowls, drums, chimes, and other instruments intended to aid in deep relaxation and rejuvenation.

Share. At the close of each session, each individual will have the opportunity to share any part of their experience or to ask questions about the practice. This is NOT mandatory and is only given as an opportunity.

Recommended contribution:
There is no required fee to attend these sessions, but I ask you consider the pay-it-forward model. If you are able, please consider a contribution of between$5 and $15 and know that you are assisting someone who may need assistance. If you are not able to contribute, please know that someone has contributed on your behalf, so say thank you to the universe and enjoy the session.
